Kellie's Castle At Night

When we're on our way home from Kedah on 7 June 2014, we got lost in Ipoh.  We're always lost when we're in Ipoh.  It's the most unfriendly town to tourists or newcomers.  The signboards are not reliable because we don't always get to where we're going if we follow them to the T.

So, after we managed to get out of the city, one of the stops was Kellie's Castle - this time at night! - eventhough it's already 8pm.  Not many cars were passing through the road.  By the time we got there, there wasn't any car around and about 8.30pm.  The last house was about 2km or so away from the castle.

When we came to the entrance of the complex, it was closed.  I guess the paranormal tour should be booked first.  Papa insisted that I got out and took a few pictures because we were already there and because we're not sure when's the next time we'll be back..  So, I opened the door and stepped out and went to the front of the car and took this picture.

It was extremely quiet.  No sound of the night creatures.  I snapped 4 pictures before I started to become a bit nervous.  The castle was eerie looking with lights blasting off the walls.  They looked dim from afar.  But from the silhouette, it was still majestic.

I tried to zoom in and this was the best I got.

I quickly got back into the car and tried not to look back at the castle.  I did not allow all of you to get out from the car because I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't want anything untoward to happen - because the surrounding area was filled with palm plantations, another reason there's no house nearby and the silence.  Only after we got back on the road that a few cars passed us by.

Call us crazy but yeah, it was quite an adventure - albeit from afar.

We can see and feel the different atmospheres between our last visit to the castle and this time around. Check out the link here: Kellie's Castle

In retrospect, it wasn't a wise decision to go there at night.
